A 7-step preset workflow for Milky Way photos in Lightroom, in the order I edit: global corrections, the sky, the foreground, the finish. You set the strength of every step with Lightroom's Amount slider, so it fits your photo and your taste.

It comes with my brushes for the mask panel, to make the Milky Way pop, reduce the stars, cut light pollution and glow, and lift the foreground.

It works on single RAW files and on stacked files, from any camera.

Install instructions

Lightroom Classic: open the Develop module, click the plus icon in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the zip file. No need to unzip it.

The brushes install separately: copy the brush files into Lightroom's Local Adjustment Presets folder and restart Lightroom. The guide shows every click.

Lightroom desktop, mobile and Camera Raw

Import the same zip into Lightroom on your computer and the presets sync to your phone. Recent versions of Lightroom mobile can also import the file directly.

Camera Raw shares its presets with Lightroom Classic on the same computer, so they show up there once Classic has them.

The brushes are for Lightroom Classic. The AI denoise preset needs a computer or an M-series iPad; the other noise presets work everywhere.
